Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the site.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and LocalStorage to enhance your experience by remembering your settings (e.g., dark mode preferences) and ensuring smooth functionality for features like multimedia players. These cookies do not collect personal data and are used solely for site personalization based on anonymous IDs. You can reset these by clearing your browser cookies and storage.

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, several cookies will be set up to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We maintain a high internal policy to check for any third-party tracking codes or cookies not from our sites. Most of our content is hosted by us and does not go through external links. However, despite our efforts, there may be content from external sources such as YouTube, SoundCloud, Vimeo, Facebook, and Instagram. In these cases, their respective provider policies apply.

Who we share your data with

Nobody! Your information is not shared with any other companies, except for those listed in this document for analytics purposes. We do not sell, share, or commercialize your data, and we never will. All data is used solely for analytics to improve our websites and apps and create an ever-growing experience for you.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To make a request, please email [email protected]. The email must be the same as the one associated with your account or include an official ID for verification. Requests may take 5 to 10 days to be completed across all our platforms.

Where your data is stored and transferred

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service from WordPress.com. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to track and process non-personal details about your access and use of our domains. Data related to site usage, analytics, and essential cookies may be stored and processed on servers hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) located in the United States. This data is secure and adheres to international data protection regulations, ensuring no personal user details are included—only non-personal, anonymous analytics.

This website uses LocalStorage to save the setting when dark mode support is turned on or off. LocalStorage is necessary for the setting to work and is only used when a user clicks on the dark mode button. No data is saved in the database or transferred.
